Microwave Transmission Engineer

    Duties: 

    ·       Microwave link and network design with unlicensed and license frequencies in varying capacities and configurations.

    ·       Equipment and technology evaluation including equipment specification, vendor and equipment evaluation, development of bill of materials (BOM), request for proposal (RFP) development,  and procurement support.

    ·       System implementation oversight, test and acceptance. 

    ·       Line-of-sight (LOS) verification and site surveys.

    ·       Interference assessments, frequency coordination and licensing.

    Experience:  Minimum of 3 years of experience with the design of point to point and point to multipoint microwave transmission system systems.

    Education:  BS/MS Electrical Engineering or technical discipline

    Skills and knowledge:

    • Knowledge of voice & data communications, protocols and technologies such as TDM, ATM, Frame Relay, SS-7, TCP/IP, etc.
    • Experienced with design tools such as Pathloss, Ellipse, and EDX.
    • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask  
    • Solid communication skills

WiMAX Design Engineer

    Duties:

    ·       Cell site evaluation and selection

    ·       Capacity and coverage analysis

    ·       Power budget analysis

    ·       CW Drive test data analysis

    ·       Propagation model selection, set-up and tuning

    ·       Datafill parameter management      

    ·       Channel planning

    ·       Interference Analyses

    ·       Zoning hearing and FAA filing support

    Experience:  Minimum of 3 years of RF design experience and 1 year of WiMAX design or optimization experience

    Education:  BS/MS Electrical Engineering or technical discipline

    Skills and knowledge:

    ·       Knowledge of wireless data technologies and protocols

    ·       Proficient in using network planning and optimization tools such as Mentum/ Marconi/ MSI Planet/ Actix

    ·       Proficient in using GIS tools/MapInfo

    ·       Proficient in the use of drive test data analyses tools and the analysis of CW drive test data

WiMAX Optimization Engineer

    Duties:

    ·       Preparation of network test plan

    ·       Cluster definition

    ·       Management of cluster, inter-cluster and network data collection drive tests

    ·       Drive test data analysis

    ·       Datafill parameter management      

    ·       Field network testing

    ·       Optimization of network parameters

    ·       Recommendations to achieve KPIs

    ·       Tracking of network changes

    ·       Vendor management

Network/Equipment Engineer

    Duties:

    ·       Coordinate transport (microwave and fiber) equipment designs for large markets

    ·       Prepare network configurations & define equipment specs to support the designs

    ·       Create equipment drawings and circuit layouts per vendor guidelines

    ·       Provide engineering support to field techs

    ·       Work with existing engineering team staff to help evolve current networks to the next product plan of record

    ·       Create detailed Site Design Packages for each market, working with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Implementation, Project Management and IT

    ·       Prioritize sites for creation of design packages

    ·       Create network integration packages for each network element

    ·       Determine equipment configurations based on vendor design rules, generate Bills of Material

    ·       Use software tools, such as Visio, to create Rack Face Elevations (RFEs)

    ·       Coordinate with Supply Chain for equipment purchase orders.

     

    Experience:  Minimum of 5 years in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in equipment and network deployment.

    Education:  BS degree in engineering, or industry experience in a technical field

    Skills and knowledge:

    ·       Prior cellular/microwave deployment experience with a transport provider is a plus.

    ·       Knowledge of Telecommunications documentation and revision control.

    ·       Good communications, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

    ·       Individual must be detail-oriented.

    ·       Flexible person with the ability to manage stressful situations and adapt to changing environments, including the ability to multi-task.

    ·       Ability to direct work with remote teams and in a face to face environment.

    ·       Excellent written & oral communications skills.

    ·       Effective organization & interpersonal skills.

    ·       Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio.
